Breaking News: Summit Coach Training Certification Renewed!
by Ircel Harrison
Summit Coach Training from Pinnacle has received approval as a Level One training program through January 2028! This allows us to continue to provide International Coaching Federation (ICF) approved training for our participants and expedite receiving their coaching credential.
When we launched Summit Coach Training from Pinnacle in the fall of 2020, we had several values in mind.
First, faith-based. Although our program is rooted in a Christian perspective, we believe that our approach to coaching can benefit all coaches and clients. Our faith-based orientation is meant to be inclusive rather than exclusive, welcoming all to our training.
Second, person-centered. We wanted to help motivated people to develop their skills as coaches to help others grow. Although most of our participants have been clergy, a number come from fields such as counseling, education, and not-for-profit management. All are experienced professionals who have invested themselves in people development and see coaching as another skill to help in that work.
Third, professional. We wanted of our instructors to be certified coaches with practical experience in the field. From the beginning, we decided to follow the Core Competencies and Code of Ethics of the International Coaching Federation, the largest organization of professional coaches in the world. We subsequently became an ICF accredited coaching education program and moved to Level 1 status.
Fourth, accessible. Although we launched during the COVID-19 pandemic, we always planned to offer classes online. This has allowed us to include students from 12 states and one other country. We are available to do in person events, but the online format has allowed us to develop a diverse clientele—geographically and denominationally.
Fifth, affordable. We wanted to provide adequate compensation for ourselves and Pinnacle Leadership Associates as an organization, but our primary purpose was to place coaching credentialing and coaching skill development within the reach of as many as possible while maintaining quality offerings. Someone can complete our program—64 coach training hours, mentor coaching, and performance evaluation—for less than $5000 (usually spread over two years).
Summit Coach Training provides the caring, personal, quality training you have expected from Pinnacle Leadership Associates from its inception. Take a look at our website for more information or feel free to reach out to me with questions about our program.
