Grieving. Healing. Together.
Loss wears a thousand faces . . .
A suddenly empty place in your life.
The loss of someone whom you wanted to be there forever.
The loss of health you took for granted.
The loss of a friendship that you thought was solid.
The loss of a pet who was therapist and family all rolled into one.
Grief is messy, spilling over into big events and sneaking into small moments.
Grief is hard. It doesn’t magically resolve with time but simply goes underground. We heal only by doing the hard work of healing. The good news is that you don’t have to do this — any of this — alone.
That’s why we created Navigating GriefLand.
What is Navigating GriefLand?
Navigating GriefLand is an 8-week group that provides a place for healing and support. You’ll learn about the grief process, what works and why some of the things you’ve been told about grief may not be helpful or even true. You’ll get tools that you can use now and forever. Most of all, you’ll get a group in which you can be honest about where you are and how you feel, a group that can hear you without trying to fix you.
Navigating GriefLand is available for churches and other faith-based organizations to offer to their congregations and communities.
Why should you provide Navigating GriefLand for your people?
Grief and loss have always been with us, and they are not going away. Helping people grieve can make a real and significant difference in their lives. It’s an opportunity to participate with God’s healing work in the world.

Any adult who has suffered any kind of loss is welcome. The only criteria for the group is that you’ve experienced a loss that matters to you.
Navigating GriefLand is grounded in the Christian faith. We recognize that people of faith may be in different places, and may experience their faith in different ways.
If you are confident in your faith, if you’re wondering about faith and asking questions, or if you don’t know where you are on the path (or even if you’re on the path) of following in the way of Jesus, you’re welcome here.

The pandemic brought loss into our lives in a large way. Not only did millions of people lose their lives but some Covid survivors are having long-lasting health impacts. Other people experienced the loss of being able to be with dying loved ones, of familiar rituals and cherished traditions, and even the loss of family connections because of disagreements about Covid. In Navigating GriefLand we specifically address these losses.
-
We strongly encourage you to make a commitment for all eight weeks. In Navigating GriefLand each week builds on previous ones. Secondly, one of the most powerful aspects of Navigating GriefLand is the power of the group. With consistency, you get to know other group members, which makes for deeper connections and support.
-
Joining together with other churches in the community is a great way to offer the group. It gives you greater resources in terms of leadership as well as financial resources. Shared ministry such as a Navigating GriefLand group strengthens the connections between churches. Another way is to charge a registration fee that covers the cost of the workbooks.
-
Absolutely! You’ll find important information in the workbooks that’s in addition to what’s in the videos. Also, the workbooks provide an opportunity for you to apply the content of the sessions to your own experience. The workbooks include bonus sections containing tools that you can use as well as for the challenges that you face throughout the rest of your life. Workbooks are priced at $15 each.

Not at all. For example, if you are part of a faith based counseling center or support group, Navigating GriefLand can be a useful addition to your work.
