Layers: Personal and Professional Post-Pandemic Growth

Second Tuesdays, 1:00-2:15, Mark Tidsworth

The pandemic interrupted nearly everything in our lives, stripping away patterns, routines, assumptions, and habits. Perceptive people were able to recognize personal habits, tendencies, assumptions, and practices that were not serving them well before this life disruption. It’s like the pandemic served as a refining fire, burning away the inconsequential in our lives. After detaching from unhelpful or unhealthy ways of being in the world, many promised themselves they would not return to the way things were. Instead they are pursuing the growth opportunities presented by such major life disruption.

Since the pandemic interrupted nearly everything in our lives, These same persons recognized the exceptional opportunity for reshaping themselves as people and clergy. Rather than only laying aside unhelpful ways of being and working, many are highly interested in developing new self-understandings and embracing healthier beliefs about how to live their lives followed by implementation. This Seminar invites participants to a journey of discovery, letting go of what is passing away and welcoming what is rising in its place. Clergy and church staff in this Seminar will work toward reshaping themselves as people and as church professionals. Mark Tidsworth is leading this seminar, integrating faith, spirituality, change theory, and therapeutic wisdom. Over the summer, Mark is creating the workbook to accompany the learning.
