Pastor Life Series: Courageous Conversations
LISTEN ANY TIME, RHONDA BLEVINS & DAVID BROWN
Are today's pressing social issues making their way into your church? Whether it's racism, sexuality, income inequality or the political divide, it's tough to hold a church together when parishioners have seemingly opposite viewpoints. Are there ways to foster conversations that heal and unite while acknowledging our differences?
The content for this seminar will be the episodes of Season 3 of “Pastor Life Podcast” by David Brown and Rhonda Blevins. Nine episodes (corresponding with the nine coaching groups for the Clergy Collective) will focus on one of the social issues confronting the church today: truth, race, sexuality, patriarchy, life, environment, politics, money and immigration. Bonus episodes will explore different models for holding courageous conversations in the local church setting. Guests on each episode will have expertise related to the focal topic or method. Rhonda and David will also facilitate coaching groups around these methods and topics:
Rhonda Blevins, Second Mondays, 2:00-3:30
David Brown, Second Tuesdays, 11:00-12:30
Rhonda serves as pastor of Chapel by the Sea in Clearwater Beach, Florida. She has served in denominational roles as well as associate pastor and campus minister. David is the founding pastor of The Welcome Table in Rock Hill, South Carolina. His previous work includes serving as an associate pastor and campus minister.
